A Singapore police officer is on trial for his involvement in the fatal abuse of his maid. Kevin Chelvam faces charges of causing hurt, abetment of causing grievous hurt, giving false information, and removing CCTV cameras. Former lawyer Gurdaib Singh Pala Singh has pleaded guilty to misappropriating nearly $480,000 of clients’ money between 2011 and 2016. Singh, who was struck off the rolls in 2018, continued to act as a lawyer for a client in 2019 without disclosing his status.
